My family is big into Halloween and now my kids love it too. My daughter drew a picture the other day of a ghost under storm clouds that were raining blood. Where does she come up with this?! Anyway, my kids love to dress up, they love the candy, and they love Halloween parties. There are so many fun ideas out there for kids Halloween activities, treats, and costumes so I put them together to make the best kids Halloween party!
What You Need for the Best Kids Halloween Party
Costume
When I think Halloween I think costumes and candy. The best part of Halloween is being able to dress up. This year we bought costumes at Oriental Trading. Did you know they sell costumes? They have a great selection and my kids were able to get exactly what they wanted. A witch, a cheerleader, a puppy dog, and then I picked out a super cute little lion for my 10 month old.
They have costumes for all ages and sizes and even themed costumes for couples and groups. I love a good couples costume! They have all the accessories and characters you’re looking for to make your perfect costume this year. Definitely check it out. And they ship quickly!
Treats
Treats are one of my favorite things at a party. There are so many fun Halloween treats that range from healthy to festive to make it yourself. Here are a couple that are sure to please the kids at your party.
These Frankenstein pudding cups are so cute and simple. A fun festive treat!
These witch cupcakes are the perfect treat for your little witches and wizards. Plus it’s a cookie and a cupcake, best of both worlds!
I love these cute spider PB&J sandwiches! If your kids like PB&J like mine, these will be eaten in no time!
I’m sure you’ve seen these cute little clementine pumpkins around Pinterest. They are so fun and a healthy treat if you don’t want to overload your party goers with sugar.
And finally these cute mummies made out of rice krispie treats are a fun way to liven up your party.
Games
Unrolling toilet paper is just a part of childhood. My babies love to unroll toilet paper when they can finally reach it and what teenager hasn’t gone toilet papering? So of course, having a mummy race with toilet paper would be a hit at any party!
When I was a student teacher in first grade, we played Don’t Eat Frank and the kids loved it! This is such a fun party game for younger kids! And My Sister’s Suitcase has a free printable for it!
A bean bag toss is always a fun idea for kids. You can make this cute pumpkin one out of cardboard.
And of course you can always do traditional party games and make them for Halloween like: musical chairs to the song Monster Mash or pin the nose on the pumpkin.
Decorations
And finally, you need fun Halloween decorations. I love this mummy door made from crepe paper!
And this DIY giant spider would be awesome indoors or outdoors!
Or if you don’t have the time or desire to make decorations for your kids Halloween party, Oriental Trading is the place to go! With everything you need for decorations, party supplies, crafts, candy, and more. They are your Halloween Headquarters!
Check out these cute witch hat lanterns!
And my kids would love these bendable monsters.
