I could not hate this podcast more. If this was the first podcast I ever listened to, there would not have been a second. The hosts seem to think they THEY are the point, not the victims, not the investigators, them and their hilarious quips. I HATE it. They are self impresses and find themselves hysterically funny and I really don't. They trivialize and fetishize true crime in a way that I find repellent and it disgusts me that they are popular. UGH! Awful and deeply boring.

I will never understand why this podcast is so popular. They don't do adequate research, the banter is absolutely inane, the intros are way too long, and they make light of very serious topics. True crime podcasts have the tough task of walking the fine line between minimizing/ using the tragedy as entertainment and giving it the due respect, remembering that someone died. It's a tough balance and these host fail miserably.

Let me just say I think these girls are really funny and obviously have great chemistry. I used to love this podcast, in the beginning. But now you have to skip through 40 minutes just to get to the case and even then it's very much them just reading someone else's articles, and not even reading well. Not to mention over the last year, the hosts are no longer capable of leaving their political views out of the story lines. Your audience gets enough political rhetoric on every other media platform. We're here for escape. I've moved on to much better put together podcasts.

Loved it until it started getting political. They make you feel like if you don't have the same views, then you might as well not be listening. Their community has adapted this same outlook and tells you if you don't have the same views, then to leave or quit listening.

I used to be a huge fan, but not so much anymore. Basically, every episode begins with SO MUCH (45 - 60 min) of two white millionaires complaining to listeners of what made them millionaires and THEN something recycled, like replaying an old episode or live show. Karen and Georgia can't seem to come up with any new content. I have officially given up on this podcast.

I've listened to this podcast on/off for years. Usually I feel they do a pretty good job at being respectful of the victims and their stories, and I've noticed in recent years they've included more call to action regarding missing people's cases, especially missing POC. However, I recently listened to the episode where they covered the horrific story of Blanche Monnier. I was pretty disappointed to hear them making light of this story and even telling jokes to one another during the story... even though Blanche's abuse took place over 100 years ago, I still felt it was offensive and off-putting that they weren't taking her story more seriously, especially given the severity of the abuse that Blanche faced. It felt disrespectful to her as well as survivors of similar abuse. I was actually so disappointed that I don't think I can listen to this podcast again.

I used to listen to this show, which I enjoyed greatly, but as I returned to following many podcasts including My Favorite Murder ( To my Horror, I found that I missed approximately 150+ episodes , Brilliant ???) but the sparkle has faded, what made the them special/unique before was not there as we have a plethora of podcasts that deal with True Crime recently, all of which strive for excellence. My Favorite Murder is not unique any more and frankly, so much time is wasted on the hosts talking about unnecessary things that don’t add anything other than to draw some laughs. Overrated!

I started listening and they kept getting facts wrong about famous serial killers. Do better research

I don't really understand why I like this podcast so much. I think it's the cocktail of these girls' personalities coupled with their genuine enthusiasm for the subject matter. It does that thing that podcasts are supposed to do where it makes you feel like you are friends, which is slightly creepy. but hey, that's our technocratic world now.

I listened to a few in the beginning but I'm not a fan. They seem to have a big following but I'm not sure their research is great and how the heck do you have a favorite murder? makes no sense to like murder.

One of my favorite podcasts. Karen and Georgia often feel more like friends than hosts, and they're always a joy to listen to. Love the true crime content, as well as the way it's approached. SSDGM, everybody!

Exploitative and not good

I loved this in the beginning but I don't like what the podcast has become. I also now tend to gravitate towards podcasts that do a much better job researching the cases. I still love their dynamic and wish I could find a podcast with a similar hilarious dynamic while also taking the cases seriously.

waste of time and very annoying

Honestly, this is a difficult one to review for multiple reasons. The ethicality of “true crime” has become more decisive than ever. This podcast is not only a victim of this conversation, but an unfortunate perpetrator of the stereotypical “true crime enthusiast”. Secondly, the podcast is beyond repair. I was a fan, like many others before Karen and Georgia became Karen and Georgia Incorporated. The odd commercialization of murder, kidnapping, and all other terrible topics is something you have to consider as an entertainment consumer in 2022. These two people have built a business on the backs of other peoples suffering. It’s terrible to admit, but it’s true. The difference between two friends discussing the general nature of true crime, and a COMPANY discussing specific true crime cases (and then profiting off of them) is stark. Lastly, unfortunately the podcast has just lost its general charm. Ethical conversation aside (which is a big thing to put aside), both performers seem disinterested and dissatisfied with their work. Which is understandable! The podcast has been running for almost 5+ years at this point; With no alterations to its format or topical nature. If anything they are simply victims of burnout. Unfortunately, “My Favorite Murder” is not what it was. It will never be. The world has changed, and MFM has to fight for its right to exist. It’s creators are to tired to do that. So it will simply fade into obscurity, as all entertainment past it’s due date will eventually do.

Not bad to listen to when I have nothing else to listen to but it is kind of hard to follow sometimes as they are all over the place with random conversations. I prefer to listen to podcasts that stay on track and are easier to follow when listening.

I watched the Podcast in chronological order. I really liked the episodes in the beginning. The hosts have good chemistry and were funny. The topics were interesting as well. I stopped watching when the took too long to get to the topic. Sorry, but if I have to skip the first 30 minutes of an episode because they talk about nothing but their personal lives, I am out. They talked too much about nothing in particular and the cases fell short. I see the appeal but the quality faded after a while.

I can see why people enjoy this show. It just wasn't for me. I listened for a while, but some of the comments they'd make about victims or the crimes were just so thoughtless that I couldn't continue listening. To be fair, I don't think I made it all the way through the first year of episodes, so perhaps this changed with time as more comfort was gained behind the mics.

There was a definite point where the episodes became unlistenable which was extremely disappointing because the initial episodes were so fantastic. Suddenly the episodes weren't about murder, they were mostly fan submitted stories which seemed to be mostly fake. As well as I have never experienced a podcast with more aggravating live episodes. The pandering to the audience makes it completely unenjoyable. The podcast now is more like My Favorite Non-Murder Crimes LIVE.
