At Podchaser we are huge evangelists of podcast guesting and all of its promotional benefits. Guesting on other podcasts provides an in-depth way to share your message with minimal work, while also providing free traffic to your website and social platforms. All of that with only a few hours of work!
But one aspect of podcast guesting that we haven’t discussed thoroughly is how to find podcasts looking for guests. In this article we’ll discuss the traditional laborious method, and the new instantaneous method using Podchaser Pro.
The traditional method is equivalent to finding a needle in a haystack. Podcast listening apps don’t differentiate between podcasts with and without guests, so if you want to find them – you have to do it yourself.
What you need to do is hunt and peck through popular listening directories like Spotify and Apple Podcasts. Click around on the top categories to find podcasts within the niche you’re looking for.
Once you’ve narrowed it down, click on each individual podcast and scan their episode titles and podcast descriptions. If the podcast regularly features guests, the guest’s name will be highlighted in one or both of these locations.
This method takes a lot of time, and still doesn’t tell you other important information like the podcasts reach, demographics, and their contact information.
Podchaser is the world’s most comprehensive podcast database, and Podchaser Pro unlocks access to truly one-of-a-kind podcast data for podcast guest placement.
Podchaser Pro users can filter podcasts by whether or not they’re likely to have regular guests in seconds. All you need to do is use the filter “has guests” when browsing podcasts on Podchaser. One click and you’re done!
You can combine this filter with other Podchaser Pro exclusive filters, like Power Score (cross-platform popularity), listener demographics, category, and ratings to target the perfect podcasts for your client to guest on.
To make browsing for podcasts with guests even easier, we’ve also included multiple indicators throughout the site. Podcasts on Podchaser will have a small indicator next to their title that shows whether or not they typically have guests on their podcast.
Green means the podcast has guests, while a gray icon means that it is unlikely to have guests. You can find these indicators on podcast cards while browsing the site or in the header and details section of podcast pages.
As we mentioned before, finding podcasts accepting guests is only the first step. You always need to know the size of the podcast’s audience, the demographics of their listeners, and crucially the contact information of the podcast.
Just like our “accepts guests” feature, you can find all the information you need with just a few clicks.
Power Score™ is our proprietary metric of a podcast’s current influence based on over 30 unique data points including: audience size, subscribers, playthrough rates, and cross-platform influence over time.
Every podcast page includes insights into demographic and psychographic data like age, location, income, marital status, occupations, and more!
Podchaser Pro also features verified contact information, so you can quickly target who you’d like to reach out to, whether that be “sponsorship inquiries,” “general inquiries,” the host, editor, producer, etc.
