Joe Rogan reunites with Alex Jones in episode #1255 for a five hour conversation in which they make amends, but ultimately derail into one of Jones’s characteristic rants. The podcast was founded in 2009.As a teenager struggling with his self esteem, Joe Rogan began practicing karate and Tae Kwon Do. Even as a 19 year old lightweight, Joe Rogan dominated the middle and heavy weight competitors at the US Open Championship Tae Kwon Do tournament and held down the title of MA full-contact state champ for four years. However, Rogan soon retired from fighting after suffering from migraines and other health complications. With the encouragement of his Tae Kwon Do community, Joe Rogan tested the waters of comedy at open mic nights, strip clubs, and bachelor parties until he was discovered by manager Jeff Sussman. In the next several years, Joe Rogan appeared on MTV, Fox’s Hardball, and NBC’s NewsRadio sitcom. During this time, Rogan realized that stand up was more to his liking than acting. For 13 years, Joe Rogan performed free of charge in LA at The Comedy Store. Joe Rogan found that he could still be a part of the UFC as a backstage interviewer. He later became a color commentator with Mike Goldberg, and won both MMA Personality of the Year and Wrestling Observer Newsletter Award for Best Television Announcer multiple times. Joe Rogan agreed to host NBC’s Fear Factor (2001-2006; 2011-2012) because he figured he could use the experience as fuel for stand up. He released a series of comedy specials including I’m Gonna Be Dead Someday (2000), Shiny Happy Jihad (2007), Joe Rogan Live (2007), Talking Monkeys in Space (2009), and later Joe Rogan: Live from the Tabernacle (2012), Joe Rogan: Rocky Mountain High (2014), and Joe Rogan: Triggered (2016). His most recent special, Joe Rogan: Triggered (2018), is streaming on Netflix. In addition to his comedy specials, Joe Rogan has appeared in a number of films. In 2011, Rogan played Gale in Zookeeper, starring Kevin James. Joe Rogan performed once more alongside Kevin James in Here Comes the Boom (2012), in which Joe Rogan plays himself as a UFC commentator.
